Art Journaling 101

I have always been a writer, a journaler, diary keeper, note taker, scrapbook maker. . . and I am so excited to be taking an online class over at Get It Scrapped! It is called Art Journaling 101, and it is all about using art as a tool for personal growth through journaling!!!
I don't get to take classes very often, and I am super excited to be able to make art and do some personal reflection AND learn some new creative techniques!!!
I kinda feel like a kid in a candy store, and I can't wait to get started!! I will keep you posted (HAHAHA) on what I learn and make!!!!
Happy Day everyone!!!

A Few New Layouts

Despite the fact that spring fever has officially set in, I have been doing some scrapping, so I thought I better post a few layouts to prove it!! I have been trying to use up what I have in my stash ( which, let's face it, is like shopping in a store! LOL) so this one of Josh uses old Cloud Nine Design papers and embellishments.
Below is a layout using Cherry Sundae from October Afternoon:

And the Boyfriend line from Cosmo Cricket:

And even older Hello Sunshine from Cosmo Cricket!!!!
And yes, that is a pic of my kids and my godkids in front of porta-potties! Gotta love that!

Happy Day everyone!!

Top O' The Mornin" To You!!!

With a name like "Green", there is no way that I could get away without celebrating St. Patrick's Day!!!

Actually, it is one of my favourite days, I love the colour green, and what's not to love about leprechauns?! The tradition in our home is to hunt for the leprechaun's pot of gold on St Patty's Day, and I just happen to have some photos from this year's hunt to share!

Wishing you all a very lucky and love filled St Patty's Day!!!

A Star is Born

The kids spent last week with Mark at the church Spring Break Musical camp. Last year they did a modified version of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat - this year it was The Drum - an Indian folktale about sharing and generosity. The kids learned the whole thing in a week, and built the set, as well!

Now Mr. Ben has always been a bit of a ham, and one of the cool things about living with Asperger's Syndrome is that he has an amazing memory, and perfect pitch. These three things really came together and he did a fabulous job performing - singing solos and duets and generally lighting up the stage with his enthusiasm! ( I am NOT biased - this is ALL true !!!)

Hannah did the sound for the musical, and found that running a sound board was "sorta cool" - for an almost 14 year old, I think that means it was fun! She did a great job.

Emily has a lovely voice and loves to sing but she is much more reserved - she prefers to be in the chorus and I was proud that she agreed to be a drummer where she might actually be seen!

Josh likes the idea of participating and he likes to sing, too. It is that darn taking direction thing that is the problem!! But he can always be counted on to smile for the camera!

I was so proud of them all - they worked hard and it was a great production - can't wait to scrap all the photos from this - and yes there are WAY too many - aaah the life of a stage mom!!!!

Happy Day everyone!

Basic Grey Page of the Month Class Sneak Peek!!!

OK, so it took me an extra day to get this done - but we have been busy!!! My kids are in a production of "The Drum" at our church and so we have been busy with rehearsals - Mark, my husband, is directing!!(More on that tomorrow!!)

This is a great kit and class program and I am so glad I get to teach it! Here is my layout:

I converted my photos to black and white, because my beautiful daughter Emily was wearing a pink and purple sweater in these wall climbing photos!

This is a great tip if you have photos you want to use with a particular paper, but the colours don't work!! Simply convert to black and white and VOILA! You have photos that work with every paper!!!

I am working on another layout with the kit leftovers, and I still have embellishments and 2 pieces of paper left! WooHoo!!! Loving the Origins line and I have the Kioshi Kit now and can't wait to play with it!!!

Happy Day everyone!

Kitschy Coo!

I am currently in LOVE with fun vintage images like the ones found in the Early Bird line from Cosmo Cricket! So I had a blast designing the latest kit for Scrapbook Parade - it combines the fun of Early Bird with the cool kitschy patterns from Basic Grey's Nook and Pantry line!!! The result is way to much fun and a great kit!!! Here is a little sample of what I came up wit h using the kit, which is available tomorrow!!

This last one is a pic of my mom - she looks so absolutely adorable - I was so glad to have rescued the photo {ok, ok, I STOLE it when I was home last time -but SSSHHH - don't tell! ;) }
I had so much fun with this kit - if you are interested in the kit, contact the store asap - our kits have been selling out in about 24 hours!!!!
Tomorrow I will have a sneak peek of the Basic Grey Page of the month class I am teaching!!!
Happy day everyone!!!
