It's all about Emily. . . .

Today is my daughter Emily's 10th Bday! I can't believe it! I still see a sweet little face covered with chocolate pudding whenever I look at her! Now she is a sweet faced girl, with just a hint of mischief, and a heart that loves nature!

Here are a few more of my layouts of Miss Em (some older and some newer!!)- I have a lot - she loves the camera!!!!

Happy Birthday Miss Em!

And Happy Day to everyone out there!!!

No, really, I am still blogging. . .

Ok, I figure I have done my time in hospitals for the last 3 weeks! Two stays for me and now my MIL is in (she had a heart attack, but fortunately is doing well after surgery!)

So, now REALLY I am back to blogging on a semi regular basis!!! YAH!!! I have been working ( very slowly!!!) on my art journal, so will have some stuff to post there, and also have got some layouts done that I will be sharing this week! I have been enjoying incorporating some new techniques into my scrapping, so hopefully you will find some inspiration here!!!

Thanks for hanging in - more actual content is coming tomorrow - no, really, it is!

Happy Day, everyone!

Back in the Land of the Living

Well, after a week of nastiness, I am finally back in the land of the living, mostly anyhow! I am a bad blogger these days, but I will try to keep posting as life gets crazier over the next few months!

I love this time of year, for a whole lotta reasons, not the least of which is:

It's ball season!!! WooHoo! I love coaching ball, and this my sixth year with this amazing group of girls - the Cordova Bay Panthers! I can't believe they have gone from sweet little 8 & 9 yr olds to these incredible 13 and 14 yr olds!!! What a privilege it is to be able to be a part of their growth! We have so much fun on our team, and the girls have become really terrific ball players.

It is a busy time for sure, but the smiles on their faces really makes it all worth it! So you can look forward to updates on the Panthers as the season progresses!

I will also be updating on my Art Journaling process, which has become a really cool part of my daily life!!! I even have time to do a little scrapbooking - which means my house is mess, but at least I have my priorities straight!!!

Happy Day everyone!

My First Art Journal Page

I am absolutely LOVING Art Journaling 101 over at Get It Scrapped. The instructor, Dina Wakley, is fabulous - you should definitely check out her blog HERE!!!

Below is my very first art journal page - I have to say that it is allowing me to reflect more deeply on my daily life and the emotions that usually live below the surface. I am slowly learning not to care so much - just to create and engage with the process, no matter what the "finished product" looks like! Very liberating, I have to say!

This one is called {fear of change}

I am still working on the collage development and adding more written text is next. I love the various media that can be used - anything from magazine pictures or words, to vintage images to fabric and little bits of ephemera that find there way into the corners of my craft drawers. Not to mention all the paints, inks, gel medium and texture medium and fabric and and and. . . !!!

Finally my many years of saving absolutely everything has a purpose!!!

Happy Day everyone!

World Autism Awareness Day 2010

Today is World Autism Awareness Day! Please take a few minute to learn a little more about Autism and Autism Spectrum Disorders, and wear blue to show your support. Check out the World Autism Day site HERE, and more about Autism HERE.

As many of you already know, I am the mom to 4 fabulous kids, two of whom live on the Autism Spectrum. This year I will be walking to raise money for autism in my community. If you are in the Victoria area, you can support local autism organizations by participating in the walk for autism on Sunday April 18th (info HERE ), or you can sponsor me :) ! If you would like to sponsor me in this walk, please email me at scrap_n_stamp_ideas@yahoo.ca, and we can arrange it!!

Here is a 7 minute video about Autism that I hope you will take look at! Enjoy this special day and pass along what you learn about Autism!
