Lilac Butterfly

It is here!!! Our second kit from Scrapbook Parade is now available in store!!! It is in my favourite colours and I am loving everything about it!

A hint of lilac, the soft kiss of a butterfly, the promise of spring in the depths of winter.

These are the images that will come to mind when you see our latest kit, featuring fabulous paper and embellishments from Kaisercraft. These special products will ONLY be available in our kit! Kit includes: four double-sided patterned papers, four regular cardstock, one embossed cardstock, a cardstock alphabet, ribbon, buttons, & flowers. Also included are a fabulous “bling” butterfly and coordinating cardstock embellishments from Kaisercraft. Detailed instructions for creating several layouts and cards from the kit will also be available for download, on our blog, beginning January 15th.

Let it Snow!!! ( And a CHA peek from GCD Studios!)

No, it is not snowing!!! - Actually it is a balmy 9 degrees Celsius today, but I was in Calgary in December and it was VERY snowy there! Here is the evidence!

This is for a class I am teaching at Scrapbook Parade next Tuesday ( sorry it is sold out!)

I absolutely love the purple and turquoise colour combo for snow photos!! This paper is from GCD - who I also just happen to have a CHA Sneak from!!!! Good planning on my part, I'd say! ;)

CHA SNEAK PEEK #1- My Little Shoebox

It is that time again - the winter Craft and Hobby Show in Anaheim is coming up fast and the sneak peeks are beginning! Want to know what is coming and what is the latest and greatest in scrapping??? Just stop by here regularly and I will be posting sneaks and other info about the show!

No, I will not be there - but my layouts will! But it would be fun - especially since Disneyland is also there :) !!!! Maybe next year!!!

A Couple of Cards

I wanted to post some of my recent layouts today, but realized that I did them for CHA ( for Upsy Daisy - a FABULOUS Canadian company that has some wonderful new goodies for the Winter Craft and Hobby Association Show in Anaheim), and therefore need to get permission to post them before they are released at the show!!! So, I have a couple of cards I did a bit ago instead! When I get permission from the great gals at Upsy Daisy I will post some sneaks of their three wonderful new lines!!!

Over the next little while I will be posting more sneak peeks from various manufacturers of their CHA product releases - sigh - so many fab products, so little time. . .

Eagles (and a rotting salmon or two!) at Goldstream

It is a tradition - I am a HUGE fan of bald eagles, and every year we make the trek to Goldstream Provincial Park to see the salmon spawn in the fall, and then after Christmas to see the eagles come to feast on the carcasses! A lovely smell, that, but the eagles are worth it. This year we didn't see too many, but we did enjoy a terrific walk on a nice day - I still find it hard to believe that it can be 7 degrees Celsius in January - even after 6 years on the coast!!!

Vintage Goodness

I am so excited to have a new role at Scrapbook Parade, our LSS here in Victoria, where I have worked part time for the past 4 years. I am now their official kit designer - which is pretty darn fun, 'cuz it means I get to put together all the latest cool scrappy goodness into a kit, and then design some layouts, cards and other stuff to help people use it!!!

Out first kit is called Time After Time, and is full of great new stuff from Jenni Bowlin and Teresa Collins. Now I am not typically a vintage kinda gal, but I LOVED using this kit to re do my mom's wedding album! As of yesterday, I think we only had one kit left at the store, but here are the layouts I made using the kit:

I had so much fun doing these, and now I am busy trying to finish up the rest of the layouts for her album! I may just turn vintage after all!!!

Back and with a Resolution!

Hey everyone! I know, I know, it has been a while and I am so behind on my Daily December that I should hang my head in shame! But to be fair, there was a nasty little incident with our cat and my album, which led to the album being tossed and very nearly the cat, as well!!! That, coupled with 15 houseguests for Christmas has put me a wee bit behind!!!

Anyway, I am back, and my New Year's resolution is to keep up with the blog by posting at least 4 or 5 times a week, include more content like tutorials and fun stuff!!!

So to start - I want to let you know about a great crop coming up at the end of the month - with a chance to win a CRICUT!!! Yup!!! I might even try to win, since apparently I am the only one on the earth who doesn't have one yet!!!!
